Aegina Island Escape

Departing from Piraeus port, we take a ferry to Aegina, just one hour away, offering a smooth and scenic journey across the Saronic Gulf.

Stroll through Aegina Town’s lively harbor, filled with colorful boats, seaside cafés, and local shops. Discover the island’s famous pistachio products — from roasted pistachios to pistachio sweets, ice cream, and traditional desserts. Take time to relax with a coffee by the water, enjoy the authentic island atmosphere, and taste the unique flavors that make Aegina’s pistachios world-renowned.

Explore the Temple of Aphaia, one of the best-preserved ancient temples in Greece, dating back to around 500 BC. Dedicated to the goddess Aphaia, it stands on a hilltop offering breathtaking views over the island and the sea. The temple forms part of the legendary “Sacred Triangle” with the Parthenon and the Temple of Poseidon at Sounion, highlighting its historical and cultural significance.

Take a short 10-minute ride on a traditional wooden boat to reach Moni Island, a small untouched paradise just off the coast of Aegina. Swim in crystal-clear turquoise waters, relax under the sun, and enjoy a refreshing cocktail by the sea. The island is owned and protected by the Greek Orthodox Church, ensuring its natural beauty remains clean and preserved. As you explore, you may even spot friendly peacocks, deer, and other wildlife living freely on the island.

Enjoy a traditional Greek seafood lunch at Ouzeri o Skotadis, located in the heart of Aegina Town by the harbor. Known for its fresh fish, authentic flavors, and relaxed seaside atmosphere, it’s the perfect spot to experience local cuisine just steps from the water.

Just a short 2-minute walk (only 160 meters) from Ouzeri o Skotadis, enjoy a sweet stop at Gelato Follia, one of the best gelato spots in Aegina. Famous for its rich pistachio ice cream made from locally grown Aegina pistachios, it offers a perfect refreshing treat to end your day with authentic island flavors.

As the day comes to an end, we begin our return journey to Athens, taking with us the memories of a truly unique island experience.
