About Temple of Poseidon
A temple literally on the water, majestic!
The Temple of Poseidon at Cape Sounion is a 5th-century BCE, Doric-style temple near Athens, dedicated to the Greek sea god, Poseidon. Perched on a 60-meter cliff overlooking the Aegean Sea, it served as a navigational landmark and religious center, offering protection to sailors. Famed for its ruins and breathtaking sunset views, it remains a major Greek tourist site.
